River of Spirits is an Oregon Book Award Finalist!

I'm honored to share that River of Spirits is a finalist for the Oregon Book Awards!

I've been in a haze since finding out the news and wasn't sure if I should believe it at first, but look! It's in print! It's really real!!! Friends of mine have been nominated for this award in the past, and every time this happened I was so excited to cheer them on. (Also, do you see who else has been nominated in this category?! These authors are all amazing and I have looked up to them for years. Seeing my name listed alongside them feels very surreal—I definitely feel like the scrappy kid sister hanging out with the cooler, more mature siblings.)

Getting the notification that my debut novel had been chosen as a finalist for this year’s awards was a pinch-me-is-this-real moment. To be nominated for an Oregon Book Award was a far-reaching author dream and it is overwhelming in the best of ways that this dream has now come true. So happy, amazed, and grateful that my book is being honored alongside these incredible authors, and deeply proud to be part of this vibrant and supportive writing community.

The awards will be celebrated on April 20th. Cannot wait to celebrate with my fellow nominees and this year’s Oregon Fellowship recipients!
