What kinds of stories do you write?
I am a fantasy writer. I love writing books for children, which spans picture books, chapter books, middle grade, and young adult. In these stories children are heroes traveling through a perilous world where they have to make tough choices and learn truths about themselves along the way. They all come through at the end. Much better than any adult would, anyhow.
Have you written any books?
My debut MG fantasy The Underwild: River of Spirits was an instant New York Times bestseller! The second novel in the series, Relic of Thieves, releases on March 24th, 2026. More books will be announced soon!
Do you have an agent?
I am represented by Andrea Morrison of Writers House amorrison@writershouse.com
Who are your favorite authors?
I’m so glad you asked! I’m an avid reader and have fallen in love with so many books. I’d recommend anything written by Laini Taylor, Christina Soontornvat, Grace Lin, Angie Thomas, B.B. Alston, Christina Li, Jacqueline Woodson, Robin Stevens, Raina Telgemeier, Jason Reynolds, and Terry Pratchett.
What does a costume designer do?
Costume Designers conceptualize, source, and create all the costumes needed for a production. I’ve designed costumes for operas, plays, television shows, films, commercials, music videos, live D&D shows, and special events. I’ve also been hired to create one-off costumes for private collections and custom garments for select clients.
Do you still design costumes?
As much as I love designing costumes, I no longer have time due to my writing schedule. My stories still reflect the love I have for clothing and costumes, and the clothing my characters wear are described in detail!
